CBSE Revokes Affiliation of 21 Schools in Delhi and Rajasthan Over Attendance and Compliance Issues

The CBSE has revoked the affiliation of 21 schools in Delhi and Rajasthan, with 16 of these schools located in Delhi. Additionally, six schools in Delhi have had their status downgraded from Senior Secondary to Secondary. In a notice issued on November 6, CBSE stated that this action was taken to maintain educational standards and address significant issues with student attendance.

The board conducted a sudden inspection of these schools on September 3 to assess compliance with its regulations, particularly concerning student attendance. During the inspection, CBSE found numerous “fake” or absent students enrolled in classes 9 through 12, which undermines the integrity of the education system and hampers the mission of providing comprehensive education.

CBSE has issued show-cause notices to the affected schools, giving them 30 days to respond. Detailed information and specific notices have been posted on CBSE’s website, emphasizing strict adherence to attendance requirements. The final status of these schools will be determined based on their responses to the board’s inquiries.
