BSNL Challenges Jio and Airtel with Cheaper Broadband Plans Amid Telecom Price Hikes
As Jio, Airtel, and VI raise prices, BSNL attracts users with affordable broadband options and upgraded speeds
Jio, Airtel, and VI have recently increased the prices of their recharge plans, leaving users scrambling for alternatives. The price hike, averaging around 15%, has led many subscribers to consider switching to BSNL, which offers more affordable plans. In response to this trend, BSNL has also made a strong entry into the broadband market by significantly lowering the cost of its plans to compete with Jio and Airtel.
BSNL has slashed the prices of its fiber broadband plans, particularly the Rs 249, Rs 299, and Rs 329 plans. In this article, we will explore the details of these new offers, making it easier for you to decide if switching to BSNL is the right move.
BSNL’s broadband plans now start at just Rs 249. Previously, this plan offered 10 Mbps speed, but the speed has been upgraded to 25 Mbps. The Rs 299 and Rs 329 plans also now provide a 25 Mbps speed, whereas they previously offered 10 Mbps and 20 Mbps speeds, respectively.
These plans come with a Fair Usage Policy (FUP). The Rs 249 plan includes a 10GB FUP, while the Rs 299 plan offers a 20GB FUP. Once the FUP limit is reached, the speed drops to 2 Mbps. The Rs 329 plan is more generous, with a 1000GB FUP, after which the speed is reduced to 4 Mbps.
Before switching to BSNL, it’s important to check the availability of their network in your area. While BSNL’s network is accessible in Delhi and nearby regions, it is not yet available everywhere. Therefore, it’s crucial to gather complete information about the network’s availability in your city before making the switch.
