Mercedes launches Maybach SL 680, 3 units only

Mercedes-Benz’s Maybach series cars are in high demand in India, making the country one of the top 10 markets for Maybach vehicles. In response, Mercedes-Benz India has launched the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series, an open-top two-seater car that blends luxury and sports performance. The company states that this model is designed for exclusive customers, with only three units available for sale in India. Deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2026.

The ex-showroom price of the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series is ₹4.2 crore. This car offers the best of both luxury and sports driving experiences. It comes in two color options: Red Ambience and White Ambience, setting a new benchmark in open-air luxury motoring.

Design and Exterior

The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 features a Maybach-patterned bonnet, a signature chrome grille, and the Mercedes star emblem. The wide front skirt enhances the car’s stance. The illuminated Maybach-specific grille and rose gold-accented headlights add a premium touch. At the rear, it has Maybach-specific tailpipe trims and Maybach-branded taillights. The aerodynamic double scoops behind the seats enhance the car’s sporty look. Chrome accents on the bonnet, side cladding, and windshield frame give it a luxurious appearance, while the 21-inch alloy wheels complete the stylish design.

Interior and Features

The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 offers a lavish interior with crystal white Nappa leather upholstery and Maybach-specific stitching patterns. The cabin features galvanized seat backrests and silver chrome trims. The digital instrument cluster and electrically adjustable center display come with Maybach-specific startup animations. The steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, and door sill trims all reflect Maybach’s signature design.

For a comfortable and peaceful driving experience, the car includes a sound-optimized exhaust system and enhanced insulation. The suspension system, soft engine mounts, and rear-axle steering ensure a smooth and effortless drive.

Performance and Engine

The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series is powered by a 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine, producing 585 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a 9G automatic transmission, achieving a top speed of 260 km/h and accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. The car features 4MATIC fully variable all-wheel drive and rear-axle steering, making it easier to maneuver. Its advanced suspension system enhances ride comfort.

Daniel Leskov, Head of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, emphasized that India is a crucial market for them, which is why the SL 680 has been specially introduced for Indian customers. Santosh Iyer, CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, stated that the demand for luxury cars in India is growing, and Maybach vehicles hold a special place among Indian customers.
