Rajasthan Police SI Exam 2024 at Risk of Cancellation Due to Major Paper Leak Scandal

37 Police Personnel Arrested; SOG Uncovers Two Gangs Involved in Leak, Proposes Exam Cancellation

The Rajasthan Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Recruitment Exam 2024 might be canceled due to a massive paper leak scandal. Several arrests have been made, including 37 police personnel. The Special Operations Group (SOG) has uncovered two gangs involved in the leak during their investigation. The SOG has proposed canceling the exam, and a decision from the government is expected soon.

This recruitment exam, conducted for 859 posts in the Rajasthan Police, saw the participation of over 7.97 lakh candidates. The exam took place on September 13, 14, and 15, 2021. Since the paper leak came to light in February 2024, the exam’s validity has been under scrutiny.

The SOG has submitted its investigation report to the Director General of Police, who has forwarded it to the state government. It is believed that the government may soon make a significant decision on this matter. According to media reports, the government is considering canceling the exam and conducting it again.

If the government decides to cancel the exam, it will impact lakhs of candidates who will have to prepare all over again. This will delay the recruitment process and increase the financial burden on the government to conduct the exam again.

This issue goes beyond just canceling the exam. It raises serious concerns about the transparency of the recruitment process. The functioning of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) is also under scrutiny.

It remains to be seen what decision the government will take and what measures will be implemented to prevent such incidents in the future. This has become a significant challenge not just for the Rajasthan Police but for the entire state.

In the paper leak scandal, several arrests have been made, including 37 police personnel. The SOG’s investigation revealed the involvement of two gangs. The SOG has proposed canceling the exam, and a decision from the government is expected soon.

This recruitment exam, conducted for 859 posts in the Rajasthan Police, had over 7.97 lakh candidates. The exam was held on September 13, 14, and 15, 2021. Since the paper leak surfaced in February 2024, the exam has been under threat.

The SOG found that the paper was leaked from the exam center and spread through social media. Five more people, including the son and daughter of former RPSC member Ramuram Raika, have been arrested along with several police officers.

The SOG believes that Ramuram Raika obtained the paper from another RPSC member, Babulal Katara, and gave it to his son and daughter a week before the exam. It is worth noting that Katara has been in jail since April 2023 in connection with another case related to the Senior Teacher Recruitment Exam.
