US ‘Gold Card’: Investment & Job Benefits for Students
New Visa Program Offers US Citizenship Path Through Investment & Job Opportunities

US President Donald Trump has announced the ‘Gold Card,’ which is being discussed worldwide, including in India. Many are wondering what benefits this card will offer to Indians. Indian investors seem to benefit from it as they will be able to acquire US citizenship more easily. However, another question arises: will Indian students studying in the US also benefit from Trump’s announced Gold Card?
Simply put, the answer is yes. The reason is that those who obtain the Gold Card will invest, creating jobs. This means that Indian students studying in the US will also find employment opportunities. Under the new visa program announced by President Trump, investing $5 million (approximately ₹43 crore) will grant a ‘Gold Card.’ This Gold Card can lead to US citizenship. Trump hopes this program will generate significant revenue for the US. It will replace the existing EB-5 visa program.
Trump acknowledged that many graduates return to their home countries and become successful entrepreneurs. He said, “They go back to India or the country they came from. They start a company and become billionaires. They create thousands of jobs.” This results in economic loss for the US. Trump further stated, “We need to be able to bring people into the country, and we want people who are productive.” In this way, the US is setting up a system to provide jobs for Indian graduates.
