Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Chhava is making a tremendous impact at the box office. Within just four days, the film has collected over ₹140 crore. Audiences are loving the movie, and videos and pictures from its screenings in theaters are going viral.
A fresh report has emerged from Bharuch, Gujarat, where a viewer tore the multiplex cinema screen during the climax of Chhava, unable to bear the depiction of Mughal atrocities. The viewer, identified as Jayesh Vasava, was enraged by the portrayal of atrocities against Sambhaji in the film and damaged the screen in frustration.
The incident occurred during the film’s climax, which showcases the Maratha-Mughal war. Gujarat police have arrested the accused, Jayesh Vasava. Despite controversies, Chhava, which brings the bravery of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s son, Sambhaji Maharaj, to the big screen, has already crossed the ₹100 crore mark within three days of release.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhava is based on the life of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and his wife, Maharani Yesubai. Vicky Kaushal plays the role of Sambhaji, while actor Akshaye Khanna portrays Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
