Wave Eva: Affordable Solar Car for India
"Compact, eco-friendly, and cost-efficient urban mobility."

At this year’s Auto Expo, officially known as the India Mobility Global Expo 2025, numerous new cars were launched, but one stood out—Wave Eva, a solar car equipped with roof-mounted solar panels for charging its battery. In the Indian market, it has been launched at an initial ex-showroom price of ₹3.99 lakh with a battery or ₹3.25 lakh with a battery subscription. Deliveries are set to begin next year.
Wave Eva is available with three battery pack options: 9kWh, 12.6kWh, and 18kWh. The Nova variant is priced at ₹3.99 lakh, the Stella variant at ₹4.99 lakh, and the Vega variant at ₹5.99 lakh. An optional solar roof is also offered. The first 25,000 customers will enjoy added benefits like an extended warranty and 3 years of free car connectivity. The Eva comes in six color options: Moonstone White, Light Platinum, Rose Coral, Sky Blue, Champagne Gold, and Cherry Red.
For those who prefer not to purchase the battery outright, a subscription option is available, reducing the initial cost of the car. The subscription models for Nova, Stella, and Vega are priced at ₹3.25 lakh, ₹3.99 lakh, and ₹4.49 lakh, respectively. Under this option, users will pay ₹2 per kilometer, with minimum monthly usage requirements of 600 km, 800 km, and 1200 km for each variant.
The Wave Eva is a compact, two-door electric vehicle designed for hassle-free city driving. It has a wheelbase of 2200 mm, measures 3060 mm in length, 1150 mm in width, and 1590 mm in height. It seats three people, with one seat in the front for the driver and a bench for two passengers at the back. The car features a dual-screen setup, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a reverse parking camera, climate control, hill-hold assist, vehicle diagnostics, and OTA updates. Its small 12-inch wheels make it highly maneuverable in tight spaces.
The 18kWh battery variant offers a range of up to 250 km on a single charge, while the 12kWh battery delivers 175 km, and the 9kWh battery provides 125 km. An optional solar roof panel adds up to 10 km of range per day, potentially giving an additional 3000 km annually. The operating cost is remarkably low at just ₹0.5 per kilometer.
Wave Mobility co-founder and CEO Nilesh Bajaj stated that commercial production is planned for next year, with deliveries starting in the second half of 2026. Customers interested in the car can pre-book now, making this an excellent opportunity for the first 25,000 buyers to own the vehicle at the special price of ₹3.25 lakh.
