10 Naxals Killed in Major Sukma Encounter
Security Forces Recover Automatic Rifles in Swift Anti-Naxal Operation
A major operation unfolded in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, specifically in the Bejjji area of Konta, where an early morning encounter between security forces and Naxals resulted in the death of 10 Naxals. Security personnel also recovered three automatic rifles and other weapons, marking the operation as a significant success.
Details of the Operation
On November 22, early in the morning, a District Reserve Guard (DRG) team received intelligence about a group of Naxals attempting to cross into Chhattisgarh from Odisha. Acting swiftly, the security forces launched a search operation in the Bejjji region and successfully surrounded the Naxals. During the encounter, 10 Naxals were neutralized.
Post-encounter, the forces recovered three automatic rifles and other high-powered weapons commonly used by the Naxals, further underscoring the operation’s strategic impact.
Continuing Efforts
While official confirmation of the operation is still awaited, local sources have highlighted its critical importance. Search efforts are ongoing in the area to track any remaining Naxals and dismantle their network further.
Sustained Action Against Naxalism
This operation underscores the relentless efforts of security forces in combating Naxal insurgency in Chhattisgarh. Over the past few years, numerous successful operations have significantly improved security conditions in the state. However, the Naxals continue their attempts to regroup and maintain their influence, making such decisive actions by security forces essential to curbing their activities effectively.
