Delhi Police Cracks Down on Noisy Bikers
35 Cases Registered, 131 Vehicles Seized, and 673 Detained on New Year’s Eve
Before the arrival of the new year 2025, Delhi Police launched ‘Operation Bullet Raja’ targeting bikers causing noise pollution and performing dangerous stunts. As a result, cases were registered against 35 motorcyclists in Jamia Nagar during a crackdown conducted from the evening of December 31 to the morning of 1 January The operation primarily focused on motorcycles with modified silencers, especially Royal Enfield Bullets.
In addition, during the New Year’s Eve operations, police detained 673 individuals, seized 131 vehicles, and registered 93 cases under the Excise Act. According to DCP (South-East) Ravi Kumar Singh, most of the offenders were riding Royal Enfield motorcycles with illegally altered silencers, which created excessive noise and disturbance.
It is worth noting that in many states, a large number of Bullet and Classic 350 riders illegally modify their bikes with silencers that emit deafening sounds or loud popping noises resembling firecrackers. These bikes can cause extreme discomfort to pedestrians and other motorists. To curb such nuisances, periodic police actions are undertaken, and ‘Operation Bullet Raja’ is a notable example of this effort aimed at ensuring public safety and reducing noise pollution.
