Mercedes-Benz Expands EV Portfolio in India with Locally Produced EQS SUV 580 4MATIC

Luxury Carmaker Now Offers a Full Range of Six Electric SUVs in the Indian Market

Luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz continues to expand its electric vehicle lineup in the Indian market. Following the recent launch of the electric Maybach EQS 680, the company has now introduced the EQS SUV 580 4MATIC. This model is the second electric car to be produced locally in India, manufactured at the Pune plant, with an ex-showroom price starting at ₹1.41 crore. The local production has helped keep the price of this luxury electric SUV more competitive.

Mercedes-Benz first brought the Made-in-India EQS sedan to the Indian market about a year and a half ago, selling over 500 units since then. Notably, India is the first market outside the United States to locally produce the EQS SUV 580 4MATIC. With this addition, Mercedes-Benz India now offers a complete range of six all-electric SUVs, including the EQA, EQB, EQE SUV, EQS SUV, EQS Sedan, and the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV. Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, highlighted that the EQS SUV 580 4MATIC is their sixth electric vehicle in India and the second to be manufactured locally.
