Allu Arjun Arrested in Stampede Case
Actor Seeks FIR Quashing After Tragic Incident at Pushpa 2 Event
Actor Allu Arjun, popularly known as “Bunny,” was arrested by police in connection with the stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the pre-release event of his film Pushpa 2. The tragic incident, which occurred in Hyderabad, resulted in the death of a woman. Following this, a case was registered at the Chikkadpally Police Station, and Allu Arjun was taken into custody.
During the screening of Pushpa 2, chaos erupted at Sandhya Theatre, leading to a fatal stampede. On December 11, Allu Arjun approached the High Court to seek dismissal of the FIR filed by Chikkadpally police, claiming that the accusations against him were baseless.
Allu Arjun expressed deep sorrow over the woman’s death, emphasizing that attending a film’s release event is a routine practice for him. He stated that he had informed the theatre management and the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) about his visit in advance. According to him, there was no negligence on his part, and blaming him solely for the incident was unwarranted.
The actor argued that the case filed against him was an abuse of the legal process and that it could harm his reputation and dignity. He requested the court to quash the FIR and issue interim orders to halt further investigation and prevent his arrest.
This incident has sparked discussions around crowd management and safety measures during high-profile events, raising questions about accountability and precautions.
