BSNL 4G Launch Confirmed for Mid-2025, India to Target 10% Share in 6G Patents
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Announces Expansion of 4G Network and Ambitious Goals for 6G Technology
People are eagerly anticipating the launch of BSNL 4G, and now a major update has emerged. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has confirmed that BSNL 4G will be launched by mid-next year, and India is also expected to secure a 10% share in 6G patents. Speaking at an industry event, Scindia highlighted that despite global economic and social challenges, the world is looking at India with optimism. He emphasized that India is emerging as a global player, and the country’s economy is no longer struggling but is instead on the rise.
Addressing the telecom sector, Scindia shared that the rollout of the 5G network has been rapid, with 4.5 lakh towers installed in just 22 months, ensuring fast 5G coverage across the nation. Alongside this, India is also strengthening its 4G network, which will be fully implemented by mid-next year. BSNL is focusing on building its 4G network with local technology, having already installed 22,500 mobile towers. This number is expected to rise to 1 lakh by next year.
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) aims to take a leadership role in 6G technology, with Scindia stating that India’s goal is to secure 10% of global 6G patents, positioning the country as a key player in the future of telecommunications.
