Karan Johar, under the Dharma Productions banner, has produced several remarkable films over the years. The upcoming Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra is also being produced under this banner. Now, news of the sale of Dharma Productions’ shares has surfaced. In a significant deal worth ₹1,000 crore, Adar Poonawalla, owner of Serum Institute, has purchased 50 percent of Dharma Productions’ shares. Adar Poonawalla’s company is the same one responsible for producing the COVID-19 vaccine.
An official press release from Adar’s team confirmed the news, stating that he will now co-own 50 percent of both Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment alongside Karan Johar.
