Grand Felicitation Ceremony Held on Teachers’ Day by Assam International Human Rights Council
Educators Honored for Their Contributions to Education at Sweet Home Kindergarten, Guwahati
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, a grand felicitation ceremony was organized by the Assam International Human Rights Council Unit in collaboration with the Food and Public Distribution Department. The event was conducted by Karan Kumar Bhuyan, Chairman of the International Human Rights Council Assam State Board, and Executive Chairman Altaf Hussain. The program took place at Sweet Home Kindergarten School, located in Bharulumukh, Guwahati.
The ceremony aimed to honor the immense contributions of teachers in shaping society and nurturing the future generation. During the event, three esteemed educators were recognized for their invaluable contributions to the field of education. Retired Principal of Aituru High School, Jyotish Chandra Bhuyan, was felicitated for his decades of dedication and service. Thaneshwar Sharma, Principal of South Nalbari Junior College, was also honored for his leadership and commitment to fostering academic excellence. Subhalakshmi Das, a beloved teacher at Sweet Home Kindergarten, was acknowledged for her passion and impact in early childhood education.
Apart from the honored guests, the event saw the presence of several notable personalities from the education and social service sectors. Sweet Home Kindergarten Principal, Bibha Hussain, expressed her gratitude for the recognition of her fellow educators and emphasized the role of teachers as the foundation of a progressive society. Guwahati Readers Firm President Nabajyoti Kolita highlighted the need for continuous support and resources for teachers to thrive in their roles. Social worker Mukut Loshan Das underscored the critical role educators play in building a more equitable and just society.
In his address, Karan Kumar Bhuyan, Chairman of the IHRC Food and Public Distribution Department, lauded the selfless efforts of teachers and encouraged the younger generation to pursue teaching as a noble profession. Executive Chairman Altaf Hussain reflected on the importance of recognizing and appreciating the hard work of educators, particularly during challenging times like the recent pandemic.
The event was also attended by other dignitaries, including Joint Secretary Ronal Poddar, General Secretary Bhabesh Baishya, Zilla Parishad Chairman Kishore Deka, and Panchayat Samiti Chairman Deepjyoti Tamuli. Each of them praised the honorees and reiterated the significance of celebrating Teachers’ Day as a way of paying homage to the unsung heroes who dedicate their lives to shaping the minds of the future.
