Govt Launches PAN 2.0 for Enhanced Security and Digital Upgrades
Free Upgradation, QR Code Integration, and Improved Data Security Under Digital India
The Government of India has launched the PAN 2.0 Upgrade Program, approved by the Income Tax Department. This initiative aims to improve the existing PAN/TAN 1.0 ecosystem by introducing an upgraded version. The program seeks to modernize and secure the current system, making it more efficient and user-friendly.
Key Features of PAN 2.0:
- Free Upgradation: Users will not need to pay any fees for upgrading their existing PAN cards.
- Enhanced Security: The system will offer better protection for user data, ensuring its safety under government protocols.
- QR Code Integration: The upgraded PAN cards will feature a unique QR code, enabling easy access to user information by authorized entities.
- Digital Transformation: PAN 2.0 will be fully online-based, streamlining processes such as taxpayer registration.

Government Investment:
