India’s Future with Electric Intercity Sleeper Buses
India’s First Electric AC Sleeper Bus Service Revolutionizes Intercity Travel
India’s electric vehicle future is set for significant growth, with intercity electric buses playing a crucial role. In a major step toward sustainable long-distance travel, NueGo, operated by GreenCell Mobility, has launched India’s first fully electric AC sleeper bus service. This marks a revolutionary shift in premium and eco-friendly intercity travel.
NueGo aims to establish a strong presence in the sleeper bus market by deploying these electric buses on key routes, including Delhi-Amritsar, Bengaluru-Chennai, Hyderabad-Rajahmundry, Chennai-Madurai, Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam, and Bengaluru-Madurai.
These buses are the first in India to be certified with a 450 kWh HV battery, ensuring seamless long-distance travel. They offer premium amenities such as ergonomically designed sleeper berths with ample space, backrests, and superior headroom, providing passengers with a luxurious travel experience.
The electric AC sleeper buses feature soft-touch interiors, ambient LED lighting, USB charging ports, night reading lamps, modern sanitation facilities, and berth pockets. For enhanced safety, especially for women, NueGo offers a 24×7 women’s helpline, a Pink Seat feature for secure booking, CCTV surveillance, GPS live tracking, and a driver breath analyzer test.
Safety and performance are key highlights, with features such as an 80 km/h speed lock, monocoque chassis for stability, ABS braking, electronic stability control, rollover protection, full air suspension with ECAS, and regenerative braking technology. The buses offer a 350 km range per charge, extendable to 600 km daily with fast charging.
According to NueGo’s MD & CEO, Devndra Chawla, this launch is a milestone in India’s journey toward sustainable transportation. It not only ensures a safe and comfortable ride for passengers but also represents a significant step toward a greener future.
