High Representative for Foreign Affairs Develops Comprehensive Work Program to Address Human Rights in Collaboration with DRC Government and Civil Society
Ambassador Dr. Haissam Bou-Said, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs of the International Human Rights Council accredited to the United Nations, particularly within IKOSOC, recently convened a meeting with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) branch of the Council. The primary focus of this meeting was to establish a comprehensive work program aimed at addressing key human rights issues in the DRC. The initiative seeks to foster collaboration between the government, civil society, and international partners to promote human rights across the country.
During the meeting, Dr. Bou-Said emphasized the importance of coordinating with the United Nations Resident Representative in the DRC to ensure that the Council’s actions are aligned with broader UN efforts in the region.
