OPPO Find N5: The Future of Foldable Phones

OPPO has launched its new foldable smartphone, OPPO Find N5. There had been discussions about it for several days. The phone features an 8.12-inch foldable screen with a 2K resolution display, offering a peak brightness of 2100 nits. Additionally, it includes a 6.62-inch external screen that can be used when the phone is not unfolded.
The biggest highlight of OPPO Find N5 is its thickness. When unfolded, it remains only 4.21mm thin, while when folded, its thickness is 8.93mm. It comes in two versions – Glass and Leather, weighing 229g and 239g, respectively.
In global markets, OPPO Find N5 is available in Misty White and Cosmic Black colors. In China, it comes in Dusk Purple with a leather back. The starting price in global markets is $1867, approximately ₹1,61,000. It will roll out from February 28. In China, the price starts at 8,999 yuan (around ₹1,07,000), with sales beginning on February 26. The phone comes with 12GB and 16GB RAM variants, with a maximum storage of 1TB.
The key feature of OPPO Find N5 is its design and slim profile. Generally, foldable smartphones are thick, but Find N5 is just 4.21mm thin when unfolded and 8.93mm when folded, making it the world’s slimmest foldable phone. The internal display expands to 8.12 inches with a resolution of 2480 x 2248 pixels and a peak brightness of 2100 nits. It has ultra-thin glass protection. The external display is 6.62 inches with FHD+ resolution, and both displays feature glass protection.
OPPO Find N5 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It comes with 12GB and 16GB RAM options, with internal storage ranging from 512GB to 1TB. The phone runs on Android 15-based ColorOS 15. It has a 50MP primary wide-angle camera with OIS support, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP periscope camera for optical zoom. The front camera is 8MP and is placed on the cover screen.
The phone is equipped with a 5600mAh battery that supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Other features include a USB Type-C port, audio speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It is rated IPX6/IPX8/IPX9, making it resistant to water damage.
OPPO Find N5 is the world’s thinnest foldable phone, with an 8.93mm thickness. Compared to other foldables, the OnePlus Open is 11.7mm thick, Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is 10.5mm, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 12.1mm, Honor Magic V3 is 9.2mm, and Vivo X Fold 3 is 11.2mm.
