Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his heartfelt condolences on social media platform ‘X’. He wrote, “Ratan Tata was a visionary business leader, a kind soul, and an extraordinary human being. He not only led the Tata Group to success but also worked tirelessly for the betterment of society. His humility, kindness, and unwavering commitment to making the world a better place endeared him to people across the nation.”

Anand Mahindra wrote on X

“I am struggling to come to terms with Ratan Tata’s passing. India is on the brink of an economic leap, and his life’s work played a significant role in our current position. His guidance would have been invaluable at this time. Now, we can only commit to following the example he set. He was a businessman who believed that success was truly meaningful when used to serve the global community. Farewell. You will never be forgotten. Legends never die. Om Shanti.”

As of 2022, Ratan Tata’s estimated net worth was around ₹3,800 crore, placing him 421st on the IIFL Wealth Hurun Indian Rich List. However, his personal wealth was modest compared to his business empire, largely because he donated a significant portion of his income to charitable causes.

Through the Tata Trusts, Ratan Tata focused extensively on healthcare, education, and rural development. A large part of his wealth was dedicated to these philanthropic initiatives, making him not only a successful businessman but also a highly respected philanthropist.
