Actress questioned for promoting betting app linked to a multi-crore scam; accused of endorsing illegal IPL streaming platforms
Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia has landed in trouble as she is now under the scrutiny of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Mahadev betting app case. The ED interrogated Tamannaah regarding her involvement in the matter. The actress, accompanied by her mother, appeared at the ED office in Guwahati, where she was questioned about the scandal. It has been reported that Tamannaah had promoted the betting app, which led many people to invest their money, resulting in significant financial losses.
The Mahadev betting app, along with the HPZ app, had promised users a return of ₹4,000 per day on an investment of ₹57,000, leading to a scam worth crores of rupees. Allegedly, fake accounts were opened in different banks under the names of shell companies to transfer funds from the investors. Tamannaah is also accused of promoting the illegal streaming of IPL matches through supporting apps linked to the betting app. It was for this reason that the ED summoned her for questioning.
