ED Raids Raj Kundra in Pornography Case
Money Laundering Probe Uncovers New Leads in Pornographic Racket
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently conducted raids at the residence and office of businessman Raj Kundra, husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, as part of an ongoing investigation into a pornography case. According to reports, the raids were carried out to probe allegations related to the creation and distribution of pornographic content through mobile apps. The ED also searched several locations linked to other individuals allegedly involved in the case.
The operation spanned approximately 15 locations across Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh. ED officials stated that the raids are connected to a money laundering case stemming from the suspected pornographic racket. Previously, the Mumbai Crime Branch had arrested Raj Kundra in July 2021 for similar allegations, though he was later granted bail by the court. Kundra had denied all accusations, calling them baseless.
During the recent raids, the ED seized documents, bank records, and digital equipment to trace the financial transactions associated with the racket. Investigators allege that Kundra and his associates illegally produced pornographic videos and distributed them via apps and websites, using the proceeds for money laundering activities.
While Shilpa Shetty’s name surfaced in discussions during earlier investigations, she was not listed as an accused in the case. With this latest action, the ED hopes to uncover new evidence. Officials have indicated that the investigation is ongoing, and more arrests could follow.
