LCB Seizes ₹2.77658 Lakh Worth Illegal Liquor in Rapar
LCB Seizes Illegal Liquor Worth ₹2,77,658 in Rapar; Questions Raised on Local Police

Under the leadership of LCB Police Inspector N.N. Chudasama, the Local Crime Branch (LCB) was patrolling the Rapar police station area when they received intelligence about a major illegal liquor stash. The information indicated that known prohibition bootleggers Manji Mavji Koli (resident of Rapar), Gangaram Koli (resident of Fatehgarh Taluka, Rapar), and Dinesh Tejabhai Koli (resident of Fatehgarh Taluka) had hidden a large stock of illicit foreign liquor inside a farm shed.
At the said place, 108 bottles of red 750 ml foreign liquor of different brands, 1486 kottriya of 180 ml foreign liquor and 216 beer tins of 500 ml totaling foreign liquor worth Rs. 2,77,658 were recovered. The quantity has been seized by the LCB team and legal action has been taken and handed over to Rapar Police Station for further action.
However, the operation has raised serious questions about the efficiency of the local police. Despite such a large quantity of illegal liquor being stored and sold within their jurisdiction, the local police failed to detect or act against it until the LCB intervened. This has led to speculation and concerns about the Rapar police’s effectiveness and potential negligence in enforcing prohibition laws.
