Mahindra & Mahindra Reports 24% Growth in SUV Sales for September 2024
"Total Vehicle Sales Reach 87,839 Units; Bookings for Highly Anticipated Mahindra Thar Roxx Begin This Week"
Indian automobile companies are creating a buzz in the market ahead of the festive season, with Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) standing out as a major player. The company’s SUV sales saw a 24% growth in September 2024, compared to the same period last year. Mahindra & Mahindra sold 51,062 SUVs in the domestic market in September 2024, up from 41,267 units sold in September 2023.
In its September 2024 vehicle sales report, Mahindra revealed that total vehicle sales, including commercial vehicles (CV) and three-wheelers, reached 87,839 units last month, marking a 16% increase compared to September 2023. Out of this, 36,777 units were commercial and three-wheeler vehicles, with 3,027 of them exported to international markets.
Vijay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at Mahindra & Mahindra, expressed his satisfaction, stating, “We sold 51,062 SUVs in September, reflecting a 24% annual growth. In total, we sold 87,839 vehicles last month, an increase of 16% year-on-year. With the festive season of Navratri, we are excited to begin bookings for the highly anticipated Mahindra Thar Roxx on October 3rd.”
Mahindra’s best-selling SUVs in the Indian market include the Scorpio-N, Scorpio Classic, and the XUV700, along with the popular Bolero in various segments. The recently launched Mahindra XUV300 has also been performing well in monthly sales. However, all eyes are on the upcoming 5-door variant of the Mahindra Thar Roxx, for which bookings are set to start this Thursday. The Mahindra Thar Roxx will be available in both petrol and diesel variants, with ex-showroom prices ranging from ₹12.99 lakh to ₹22.49 lakh.
