Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn bring Kakbhushundi Ramayan promo

The legendary success of Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan is well-known; it revolutionized Indian television and brought unprecedented popularity to Doordarshan. Now, in an exciting new collaboration, Doordarshan and Sagar World Multimedia are set to bring Kakbhushundi Ramayan to audiences across India, promising to leave a lasting impression.

Produced by the team behind Singham Again, this series will offer a unique and captivating perspective on the Ramayan, enhanced with high-tech VFX and a rich musical score for an immersive viewing experience.

Titled Kakbhushundi Ramayan – Untold Stories, this Sagar World Multimedia production will air on Doordarshan (DD1) starting November 18, 2024, at 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The show will not only reveal lesser-known aspects of the Ramayan but also present them in a fresh and engaging way.

Shiv Sagar, grandson of the late Dr. Ramanand Sagar, honors his grandfather’s legacy; in 1987, Ramayan touched millions worldwide, at a time when Indian television was just taking off. That iconic series became a historic success, reaching over a billion viewers.

Under Shiv Sagar’s leadership, Sagar World Multimedia continues its tradition of creating impactful content. Shiv’s father, Prem Sagar—an award-winning cinematographer and the marketing director for Sagar Arts—directed the beloved Vikram aur Betal series in 1985. This series was a significant precursor to Ramayan, setting a new direction for Indian TV.
