Sonakshi Sinha’s KBC Controversy: Family Reacts
"Luv Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha Address Criticism Over Ramayan Question"
Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, has recently been in the spotlight not for her films but for her knowledge. After facing criticism from actor Mukesh Khanna and poet Kumar Vishwas over her response to a Ramayan-related question on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), her elder brother Luv Sinha has now commented on the controversy. His remarks have sparked rumors of a rift between the siblings, further fueled by social media debates surrounding Sonakshi’s personal life and marriage to a Muslim man.
The controversy began when Sonakshi struggled to answer a simple Ramayan question during her appearance on KBC. She used a lifeline when asked, “For whom did Lord Hanuman bring the Sanjeevani herb?” Mukesh Khanna recently reignited the issue, questioning Sonakshi’s upbringing and values. In response, Sonakshi hit back at Khanna, defending herself.
When asked about the matter, Luv Sinha echoed his father Shatrughan Sinha’s stance, though with subtle differences. Speaking to Bollywood Helpline, Luv said, “I agree with what my father said in response to Mukesh Khanna. However, my response might have been slightly different. Mukesh ji is a senior, but he shouldn’t have commented on my father. As for Sonakshi, this is an old issue, and there’s no point in bringing it up again. Yes, it was a mistake, but it’s in the past now.”
Earlier, Shatrughan Sinha had defended Sonakshi, saying, “I am proud of all three of my children. Sonakshi has made a name for herself on her own. She is a daughter any father would be proud of. Failing to answer a question about the Ramayan doesn’t disqualify her from being a good Hindu. She doesn’t need anyone’s approval.”
This ongoing debate has reignited discussions on social media, but the family remains united in their support for Sonakshi despite the differing opinions.
