A video showing a tricolor flag with a moon and a star, reportedly taken during a religious procession on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi in Chhapra, Bihar, has gone viral. The flag in the video resembles the national flag of India, but instead of the Ashoka Chakra, it features a moon and a star. This alteration is a violation of several laws, including the Indian Flag Code of 2002.
Following the video’s circulation, the police took prompt action. Saran Superintendent of Police (SP) Kumar Ashish confirmed that the video is from Monday and was captured during the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi procession in the Kopa Bazaar area. The SP has directed local police to investigate the matter thoroughly. The Kopa police station has also begun the process of registering a formal complaint (FIR).
SP Kumar Ashish urged the public not to pay attention to rumors and assured them that strict action will be taken against those spreading misinformation. He also called on media outlets to report responsibly and avoid publishing content that could incite tension or animosity. The district administration has warned that any irresponsible reporting will be met with strict measures.
